The problem with courier portals

For most small brands, shipping day looks the same. Open the order in one tab, open the courier portal in another, and retype the customer's name, phone, address, city and COD amount for every parcel. Then copy each tracking number back into WhatsApp so the customer stops asking where their order is.

It works at ten orders. At a hundred it eats an afternoon, and every retyped field is a chance to send a parcel to the wrong city or collect the wrong amount. Courier booking from the admin panel removes that copy-paste step entirely.

Book a shipment from the order itself

With Leopards courier integration and PostEx integration built into your store, you open an order in the admin panel and book it with your chosen courier. The customer's details and the order's COD amount are already on the order, so they go to the courier as they are, with nothing retyped. That saves time on every parcel and removes the typing mistakes that send a rider to the wrong address or collect the wrong amount.

  • Leopards and PostEx bookings made from the order page
  • The verified COD amount sent with the booking
  • Courier city lists synced so the customer's city is matched correctly
  • Couriers switched on and their city lists synced from the admin panel

Your own Leopards or PostEx account is connected when your store is set up, so shipments are booked under your account with the courier, just as they would be through its portal. The difference is where the booking starts: from the order that already holds every detail the courier needs.

Tracking numbers saved and emailed automatically

When a booking succeeds, the courier's tracking number is saved on the order and emailed to the customer straight away. You don't have to message it to anyone, and it's on record if the customer calls later. Anyone on your team can open the order and see the tracking number without searching through chats.

Customers can also use the order tracking page on your store, entering their order number and email to see where things stand. They don't need an account or a login for this. That turns a lot of "bhai, order kahan hai?" messages into a link they can check themselves.

Sync tracking to see where parcels are

Once parcels are out, you need to know which are moving, which are delivered and which are coming back. A "Sync tracking" action pulls the latest status updates from the courier into your orders, so you can follow shipments from the admin panel instead of checking tracking numbers one by one on the courier's site. On COD, knowing early that a parcel is being returned lets you follow up with the customer or plan for the stock coming back.

  • Pull the latest courier status into your orders with one action
  • Keep order statuses from processing through shipped, delivered or returned
  • Track payment status for each order as COD money comes in
  • Let customers check progress themselves on your tracking page

Keeping order statuses up to date also keeps your records honest when you look back at what was delivered and what was returned. You can mark orders as delivered or returned and see payment status alongside, which helps when you reconcile the COD money the courier sends you.

No double bookings, correct cities

On a busy day, it's easy for two people on your team, or one person clicking twice, to book the same order again. That means a second pickup, a second charge and a confused rider. The system blocks booking the same order twice, so a repeated click or a second team member can't create a duplicate shipment.

Couriers also expect cities to match their own lists, and a misspelt city can hold up a booking or misroute a parcel. The courier city lists are synced so the customer's city is matched to the courier's version. That avoids bookings failing over spelling differences, such as a customer typing their city in a way the courier doesn't recognise.

Which couriers are supported

Leopards and PostEx are integrated today. Other couriers, such as M&P, are not integrated. More couriers can be added when they provide an API that allows bookings to be made from outside their portal, so if you rely on a different courier, mention it when you get in touch.

You can use either integrated courier, depending on which one you have an account with and which works better for your customers' cities. Both are booked the same way from the order, so your team doesn't have to learn two different processes.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need my own Leopards or PostEx account?

Yes. Shipments are booked under your own courier account, which is connected to your store when it is set up. Your rates and terms with the courier stay between you and them.

Is the COD amount sent to the courier automatically?

Yes. The order's total, which the store calculates and verifies on the server, is sent with the booking as the COD amount, so it matches what the customer was shown at checkout.

Can you integrate M&P, TCS or another courier?

Only Leopards and PostEx are integrated today. Another courier can be added if it provides an API for bookings, so tell us which courier you use and we'll look at it.

What happens if I click book twice by mistake?

The system blocks booking the same order twice, so a repeated click won't create a second shipment.

Does the customer get their tracking number?

Yes. The tracking number is emailed to the customer automatically when the shipment is booked, and they can also check their order on your store's tracking page with their order number and email.
