FAQ

Questions about getting an online store for your business

What a custom store includes, how cash on delivery and couriers work, what shapes the cost, and how much of it you can run yourself.

Getting started

What exactly does ecomm.builder build?

We design and build online stores for Pakistani businesses, under your own brand and domain. Each store is custom designed rather than templated, works well on mobile, and comes with cash on delivery, Leopards and PostEx courier booking, discount codes, reviews and an admin panel you run yourself.

Who is a custom online store a good fit for?

Brands that already sell and want a proper home for their orders: clothing, lawn and pret labels, skincare, beauty and fragrance sellers, shoe and home decor shops. Typically they take orders through Instagram or WhatsApp DMs or on Daraz, or they are on Shopify or WooCommerce and want a store built around COD and local couriers.

Do I need technical skills to run the store?

No. Day-to-day work happens in the admin panel: adding products and photos, changing prices and stock, creating discount codes, updating order statuses and booking couriers. If you can manage an Instagram shop or an Excel sheet, you can manage the store. We take care of the technical side of the build.

Can I try a store before I get in touch?

Yes. There is a working demo store you can browse like a customer, from category pages and filters to the cart and checkout. If you want to see the admin side as well, ask for a free walkthrough of a working store and we will show you how products, orders and shipments are managed.

What do you need from me to build my store?

Your product catalogue, ideally in a spreadsheet with names, prices, sizes, colours and stock; clear product photos; your logo and any brand colours or fonts you use; and your domain, or the name you want if you do not have one yet. Your delivery fee rules and courier accounts help too.

Pricing and timelines

How much does a custom store cost?

It depends on what your store needs: the size of your catalogue, how much custom design work is involved, and which features you want set up. Rather than publish a figure that may not fit your business, we look at your requirements and give you a quote. Get in touch by WhatsApp, phone or email.

How long does it take to build a store?

That also depends on your catalogue, your design and how quickly product photos and details are ready. A store with a small, well-organised catalogue moves faster than one where products still need sorting. We can give you a realistic estimate once we have seen what you sell.

Why don't you list fixed packages?

Because Pakistani stores differ a lot. A fragrance seller with a small range has very different needs from a clothing brand with many sizes and colours per design. Quoting after a conversation means you pay for the store you need, not a package built around someone else's business.

What should I prepare before asking for a quote?

A rough idea of how many products you sell and how many options they have, the couriers you use, where you take orders today, and any stores whose look you like. Links to your Instagram page or Daraz shop are useful, because they show us your catalogue and your brand quickly.

Orders, COD and couriers

How do you make sure the rider collects the right amount?

Order totals are calculated on the server, not taken from the customer's browser. Product prices, option price adjustments, discount codes and the delivery fee are all checked against your store's current prices and rules when the order is placed, so the COD amount on the order is the amount your shop set.

Which couriers can I book from the admin panel?

Leopards and PostEx. You book a shipment from the order in the admin panel, and the same order cannot be booked twice by mistake. Other couriers are not integrated today, but one can be added if that courier offers an API.

How do customers get their tracking details?

When you book a shipment, the tracking number is saved on the order and emailed to the customer automatically. Customers can also look up their order on the tracking page with their order number and email. Use Sync tracking in the admin panel to pull the latest status from the courier.

What happens to stock when an order is cancelled?

Stock is reserved as soon as an order is placed, so the last unit of a size or colour cannot be sold to two people. If you cancel the order, that stock goes back on sale, and if a discount code was used, its use is restored too.

Does the store do anything about fake orders?

Orders are rate-limited, which stops scripts from flooding your store with fake orders. It cannot stop a real person who orders and then refuses the parcel, so it still makes sense to confirm larger COD orders with the customer before you book the courier.

Running your store

How do I add a new product with sizes and colours?

Create the product in the admin panel, upload its images, choose its category and add options such as size and colour. Each option has its own stock and can carry its own price adjustment, so a larger size can cost more. You can also set a sale price.

Can I upload my whole catalogue at once?

Yes. Products can be bulk imported from an Excel or CSV file, which is much quicker than adding a large catalogue one item at a time. After importing, you can review and edit any product individually in the admin panel.

What kinds of discount codes can I create?

Percentage or fixed-amount codes, with an optional minimum order, a maximum discount, a usage limit, and start and expiry dates. Codes are checked on the server at checkout, and you can promote a code on the site so shoppers see it before they reach the cart.

Who controls the reviews on my store?

You do. Reviews appear on the product page as soon as they are posted, and from the admin panel you can hide any review or reply to it. If you would rather approve every review first, the store can be set up that way. Reviews from customers who actually bought the product show a verified-purchase badge, which helps new shoppers trust what they read.

Do customers have to create an account to order?

No. Guest checkout is available for people who just want to order. Customers who do create an account can save their addresses and keep a wishlist, which makes repeat orders quicker. The store runs on your own domain and under your own brand either way.
